I have started to mark the exam paper for more than a week. In this week what I have to do is to mark the paper, calculate the marks, double check my marking, double count the marks, mark the scores on score sheets...... It's really a harsh task for me since I didn't want to make any mistakes. I want to do everything perfectly. If you know I am this kind of person, then you will know why I always ask you to do your best and work hard. I always want to avoid making mistakes and so I want you to be careful when you do your homework, quizzes and tests.Sometimes when I hear you say you are very busy, you don't want to be a student. I will be very angry and I want to tell you being a student is most lucky occupation to be in the world. If I can choose, I would like to be a student forever. I think doing homework, revise for tests and exams are as simple as eating a hamburger. However, when you have to work in the society, you have more work to do than that. Some of you may think that it's so easy to be a teacher. You see me entering the classroom and talk for 35 minutes, assign homework to students, mark your homework. They are all easy tasks, right? Are these all the things that a teacher needs to do? The answer is 'Definitely NOT!' Before entering the classroom, I plan the lessons carefully, design worksheet, think of the methods to help you learn effectively. I have to try to make the things easy and simple, make sure you understand my teaching and know how to do the homework at home.
Besides teaching, I have to do a lot of administrative work. I have to handle the ERS scheme, Native English Teacher Scheme (Jim), Uniform and Classroom Cleanliness Competition, Inter-class Discipline Competition, School 40th Anniversary Essay Competition, School Recycle bag Competition...... Is it amazing? Most of you think that what I have to do is teaching you English ONLY. That's absolutely WRONG. What you are enjoying now are the things that teachers use a lot of time to plan, prepare and carry out. All these work is DONE BY TEACHERS! Nowadays, teachers are not the people who teach students only. They have to do everything to make your school life more colourful. The things that I mentioned above are just some of the things that I have to do. Actually, I have to do more than that. After reading this journal, do you think you have to RESPECT and LOVE your TEACHERS?
